Welcome to my personal web presence. This site exists to showcase a selection of my creative and technical writing work and to further own personal HTML enjoyment. Please check out the Resume and Writing Portfolio sections of the site.
Currently, I am employed full time in the IT field as a Technical Support Technician Level II. The title is misleading, as it is the IT equivilent of the Maytag Man. Aside from my job (not a career...a job) I have completed a B.S. Information Techonlogy degree from the University of Phoenix, which has an excellent and quite difficult accredited degree program. I Graduated on June 15 and will begin the UoP Master of Information Technology program around August or September. I have decided that if Writing were to ever fail me for some reason I will always be able to teach, which is another occupation that I enjoy.
In addition to my job and my degree work, I am working on a couple of writing projects at this time. The project that I am the most pumped up about is a Sci-Fi story that I started over 15 years ago and have been working on ever since. I consider this story to be the most important thing I will ever do in my life.
While I do have a title for the book, until it is published I will simply refer to it as "My Baby." The final version should be approximatly 800 paperback pages long and will be split into three parts or sections. Part One is now entering second draft stage, Part Two is still in first draft stage and is pretty much at the halfway point of the section. Part Three has been outlined and once I work out the story bugs in Part 2 it should write itself in no time. In fact, the Third Part has already been written in my head, I'm just waiting to get Part 2 on paper first.
When I get stumped working on "My Baby", I have been working on an untitled book that I simply call the "Green Book". The Green Book is non-fiction and is a spiritual book derived from the essays that I have written as Phoenix Forestsong. Where "My Baby" is my life's work, The Green Book is more of a work of passion and reflection, a work of spirit and peace and, of course, a work of Magick.
Aside from my job, school, writing, writing, and writing, I am an amature painter and sculptor. I have created several beautiful and useful items through the combination of these two hobies. I need to update this site in a bad way, but some of my earliest attempts at painting are listed under the Gallery link above. Regardless of what I am doing, I always listen to music, as I am a Jazz/latin/swing Drummer. Some of my favorite musicians include: Phish, Pink Floyd, Dave Matthews Band, Grateful Dead, Nick Drake, Ben Harper, Led Zeppelin, The Black Crowes, and the list goes on...F O R E V E R.
